EngineeringWe have a current opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Aberdeen. Occasional offshore trips are involved and the company offers hybrid working.

Responsibilities:
- Providing mechanical engineering support related to main power generation plant operations and maintenance
- Providing mechanical engineering support related to main cranes and lifting equipment operations and maintenance
- Providing mechanical engineering support which may entail extended offshore visits as and when required
- Providing knowledge/expertise in all aspects of specific types of mechanical equipment, fabricated equipment, materials handling equipment
- Generating workscopes, detailed cost estimates, and compiling maintenance and minor modification work packs for offshore implementation.
- Providing operational and specialist mechanical engineering support to modification or study teams or projects in line with the technical Management of Change procedure.
- Ensuring all modifications to the installation’s systems fully comply and meet with the requirements of the UKCS related legislation; Asset Verification Scheme; and the Company’s relevant specifications and standards, procedures and safety rules.
- Assists in setting budgets which are realistic, manage expenditure for all work scopes within the limits of those budgets, demonstrating appreciation of commercial and technical risks, managing this appropriately within own work and highlighting any significant issues
- Managing subcontractors and suppliers
- Performing engineering design and analysis of mechanical engineering work to client specifications, relevant client and company procedures and policies, as well as relevant industry Standards and Codes.
- Remaining up to date with the latest technical developments in relation to the role.
- Liaising with other relevant disciplines to ensure technical integrity of design is maintained
- Supporting and producing the assigned discipline deliverables within designated time frames.
- Assisting the CMMS Coordinator with the delivery, execution and follow-up of the maintenance plan activities where the deadline has been exceeded
- Participating in and contributing to various Safety Reviews related to the projects, ie HAZID, HAZOP etc, and close out assigned actions in a timely manner
- Preparing various technical reports as required
- Assisting with inspection of equipment and attendance at Factory Acceptance Tests as required
- Maintain Mechanical Equipment Specifications, Standards and Procedures and be the local point of contact for the Mechanical Safety Rules.
- Maintaining mechanical standards and procedures and be the local owner of appropriate mechanical management procedures
- Providing input and supporting long-term facility modification and maintenance plans/programs to ensure cost effective operation and asset integrity throughout the FPSO lifetime
- Carrying out technical integrity audits on mechanical systems and work management as part of the technical audit programme.
- Meeting the corporate targets.
- Leading and participating in a proactive safety performance and KPls and providing appropriate input to the Process Safety Management System.
- Participating in equipment failure investigations and incident investigations as required.
- Ensuring compliance with the BAB/AMO Safety, Health, Security and Environmental Management Systems for all assets/facilities are met within areas of own responsibility
- Ensuring that all requirements, deadlines, and support services for FPSO Operations, Construction, Maintenance and Materials are met and carried out by offshore personnel
- Ensuring a significant focus on safety with regards to the installation’s daily operations
- Influencing and collaborating with the asset leadership teams and all other relevant stakeholders
- Performing effectively within a strong peer group to drive forward optimal business solutions
- Demonstrating self-motivation, strong personal leadership and drive toward teamwork
- Adhering to the IOGP ‘Life Saving Rules’
- Attending all required mandatory training as detailed within the company’s training matrix
- Ensuring knowledge of safety requirements, including work permit systems, operational and emergency procedures, company policy and instructions
