Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Site & Pre-Commissioning / Commissioning Engineer to oversee and support field engineering activities related to electrical systems during the construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases of a major oil and gas development project in Uganda. This is a rotational position with a long-term contract offering challenging and rewarding work in a high-profile environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and control all field engineering activities related to the electrical discipline during construction.
• Review and validate contractor documentation, including field engineering and construction deliverables.
• Provide proactive technical support to the construction team, anticipating and mitigating engineering risks.
• Oversee site modifications, ensuring compliance with project requirements and applicable regulations.
• Support the commissioning team with clarification and resolution of technical issues.
• Participate in and contribute to electrical pre-commissioning activities and the use of ICAPS & OPERCOM methodologies.
• Monitor contractor progress, respond to technical queries, and prepare regular reports for management.
• Ensure quality and safety standards are upheld at all times across site activities.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering within the oil & gas industry.
• Strong site and commissioning experience, particularly in large-scale onshore projects.
• Proven ability to coordinate teams and effectively manage interfaces across disciplines.
• Skilled in documentation review, construction supervision, and commissioning practices.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with digital project management tools.
• Valid medical certificate aligned with international standards.
