Job Title: Mechanical QC Inspector

Start Date: ASAP (Preference for candidates currently based in Qatar)

Role Overview:

We are currently supporting the Ras Laffan Petrochemicals Project (RLPP) in Qatar and are seeking an experienced Mechanical QC Inspector to join the team for the duration of the project. This is a site-based role focused on quality assurance and inspection of mechanical systems and installations in accordance with international codes and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct on-site inspections of materials, equipment, and mechanical construction/installation activities.

• Monitor mechanical installations, alignments, levelling, and completion checks (e.g., tanks and pressure vessels).

• Witness and verify hydrostatic testing, pad settlement, and storage tank inspections.

• Inspect placement, orientation, levelness, and fixings for equipment and foundations.

• Verify compliance with the approved Inspection Test Plan (ITP), codes, and specifications.

• Review and verify special processes including weld procedures and welder qualifications.

• Monitor site mechanical activities to ensure alignment with inspection plans, drawings, and method statements.

• Maintain inspection logs, RFIs, and MIRs; ensure timely documentation of QA/QC records.

• Create punch-lists, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and monitor corrective actions.

• Attend toolbox talks and coordinate with site QC and Construction teams to uphold quality standards.

• Conduct receiving inspections of mechanical and electro-mechanical components.

• Ensure adherence to safety protocols during all inspection activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical QA/QC inspection within large-scale construction projects.

• Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., QCS 2014, ASTM, ACI, NFPA, BS, AWWA).

• Experience with inspection techniques, risk-based inspection principles, and root cause failure analysis.

• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Detail-oriented with solid analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.

• Effective communicator and team player with proactive attitude towards safety and compliance.

Additional Requirements:

• Preference for candidates currently residing in Qatar (for smoother mobilisation and onboarding).

• Must be capable of working in a dynamic construction environment and managing inspection records efficiently.

• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
