Senior Construction Superintendent - Tanzania

On behalf of a major Oil & Gas operator, WRS are looking for a Senior Construction Superintendent to lead on-site construction oversight across pipeline and facility packages for a large onshore pipeline construction project. This is a critical leadership position interfacing between contractors, engineering, and project management teams to ensure safe, timely, and compliant delivery of construction scopes.

The role will be offered on a 12 month renewable contract, rotating 8 weeks/2 weeks, paying a day rate in USD.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day construction supervision across assigned pipeline spreads, facilities, and infrastructure.
• Act as key interface between site teams, engineering, and project management to identify and resolve issues in real time.
• Support construction delivery for AGI, MST, EITS infrastructure and associated scopes within the pipeline corridor.
• Ensure contractor compliance with safety, quality, and contractual execution requirements.
• Monitor construction schedules, review progress reports, and support critical path analysis and mitigation.
• Participate in constructability reviews, site inspections, and design verifications.
• Provide coaching and on-the-job training to local personnel and ensure integration of local content.
• Review pipeline ROW alignment and GIS mapping to confirm design conformance.
• Support completions, preservation, and system readiness for commissioning.
• Contribute to HSE leadership and uphold strict compliance with code of conduct and ethics standards.

Candidate Requirements:

• Tertiary or professional qualifications in construction management or a related discipline.
• 20 years’ experience in pipeline construction in the oil & gas sector, with at least 10 years in supervisory roles.
• Experience working for an oil & gas operator
• Deep understanding of construction methods for pipelines, AGI/MST facilities, hydrotesting, flushing, torquing, LOTO, and commissioning.
• Demonstrated experience leading multicultural teams in remote or complex environments.
• Strong command of planning systems, critical path schedules, and engineering drawing interpretation.
• Proficient with tools such as SharePoint, MS Office, Aconex, and other project delivery platforms.
• Strong knowledge of ASME, API, ISO, and GIS-based pipeline routing and interface coordination.
• Effective communicator and natural team leader who can work independently and make decisive field-level judgments.
