Preservation Engineer - Sweden

WRS is looking for a  northern Europe is seeking a qualified Preservation Engineer to work on a large-scale industrial hydrogen infrastructure project in Sweden. The role will oversee the care and protection of materials, components, and equipment throughout the construction and commissioning phases. This is a site-based rotational role offering an opportunity to directly support quality assurance and equipment longevity in a highly complex project environment.

The role will be offered on a 12 month renewable contract, rotating 6 weeks on/1 week off, paying a day rate in Euros

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement preservation plans aligned with project requirements and standards.
  • Coordinate inspections of incoming materials and equipment, verifying preservation conditions on delivery.
  • Monitor environmental controls in storage and laydown areas to protect sensitive assets.
  • Execute routine preservation maintenance during construction, ensuring equipment remains in optimal condition.
  • Liaise with vendors and contractors to enforce manufacturer preservation guidelines.
  • Work closely with construction and commissioning teams to ensure uninterrupted preservation measures until handover.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with project specifications.
  • Provide training to site personnel on handling, storage, and preservation best practices.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of preservation activities for audit and turnover purposes.
Requirements:
  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in preservation or maintenance engineering on large-scale industrial or energy sector projects.
  • Right to work in Sweden
  • In-depth understanding of international preservation standards (e.g., API, ASME, ASTM).
  • Experience preserving rotating equipment, electrical systems, and instrumentation.
  • Proficient with preservation tracking systems, digital tools, and MS Office suite.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
