Job Title: Area Manager – Major Industrial Construction Project Location: Boden, Sweden

Overview: A leading international engineering organization is seeking an experienced Area Manager to take on a key leadership role within a landmark industrial construction project in Boden, Sweden. The position offers a unique opportunity to oversee the full lifecycle of a critical project area—from engineering through to handover to operations.
This role is ideal for a senior project professional who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and has a proven record in managing high-value, multidisciplinary industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a cross-functional internal and external area project team, setting delivery priorities and targets aligned with company goals.
• Oversee all phases of the project area, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Establish and maintain governance structures to ensure effective decision-making and project control.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure efficient resourcing, clarity of roles, and timely delivery of project commitments.
• Maintain ownership of scope, budget, and schedule — driving adherence to critical milestones.
• Lead change management and scope control, ensuring a shared understanding of objectives and timelines across all stakeholders.
• Champion continuous improvement and cost optimization by challenging technical solutions and seeking innovative delivery methods.
• Report progress, risks, and escalations to the executive team and other key stakeholders.

Candidate Profile:

• A minimum of 15 years of industry experience, with at least 10 years in project leadership roles in complex industrial settings (e.g., steel, oil & gas, automotive, battery production, semiconductors).
• Engineering degree (BSc/MSc or equivalent) required.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects across both planning/design and execution phases.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills in multidisciplinary environments.
• Fluent in English; experience working in multicultural and matrix organizations is advantageous.
• Experience on owner-side project delivery is considered a plus.
