About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Package Superintendent (Cold End) to join a major onshore LNG construction project in Northern Mozambique. This role offers the opportunity to lead and manage the cold end construction activities on a large-scale, complex infrastructure development with significant technical and operational challenges.
As Package Superintendent, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, timely, and high-quality execution of all construction works within your package area. You will supervise a dedicated team of construction personnel and collaborate closely with contractors, subcontractors, and other discipline teams to achieve project milestones in line with budget, safety, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the management of cold end construction activities, ensuring full compliance with project HSE standards and promoting a strong safety culture on site.
  • Monitor contractor performance against contractual obligations, project plans, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections, reviews, and assurance activities to ensure work is performed safely and to the highest quality.
  • Identify and proactively address risks and deviations, proposing mitigation actions and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering, planning, HSE, procurement, and construction teams to maintain effective communication and smooth execution.
  • Inspire and motivate your team and contractors through leadership by example, fostering teamwork and engagement.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant local laws, standards, and project specifications.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and sharing best practices.
  • Work in a remote and challenging environment requiring resilience and adaptability, following strict health, security, and environmental protocols.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction supervision, preferably in oil & gas or LNG projects.
  • Proven track record of managing large, complex onshore construction packages.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Deep understanding of HSE principles and ability to enforce compliance rigorously.
  • Experience working in remote or challenging environments is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English required; Portuguese or French language skills are a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
