Position Title: Piping Engineering Lead

Location: Onshore, Qatar

Working Hours: 10 hours/day, 6 days/week (26 days/month)

Estimated Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 36 months (potential for extension)

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Piping Engineering Lead to oversee piping design and layout for compression offshore facilities. This includes both greenfield and brownfield project scopes, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution. The role involves close collaboration with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to deliver high-integrity piping systems aligned with project milestones.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead piping layout and design activities, ensuring safety, operability, and compliance with offshore engineering standards.
• Interface with internal stakeholders and contractors to align design efforts with project goals.
• Apply expertise in both greenfield and brownfield layouts, with emphasis on constructability and operational readiness.
• Oversee materials selection, ensuring corrosion resistance and cost-effectiveness in offshore environments.
• Perform and review stress analyses using relevant software tools; interpret and act on analysis reports.
• Ensure 3D modeling tools are effectively used for layout visualization and clash detection.
• Monitor and guide adherence to piping codes, tie-in requirements, and retrofit design constraints.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to piping design, fabrication, and installation.
• Ensure deliverables meet required standards for safety, quality, and schedule.
• Support knowledge transfer and collaboration across multidisciplinary project teams.

Candidate Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in offshore oil & gas piping engineering
• At least 5 years' experience specifically in brownfield piping layout and design
• Proven track record in managing piping scope within major offshore projects

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in piping layout design for both greenfield and brownfield environments
• Strong understanding of offshore tie-ins, stress analysis, and materials selection
• Familiarity with stress analysis tools (e.g. CAESAR II) and 3D modeling software
• Knowledge of piping codes and standards (e.g. ASME, API)
• Awareness of flow-induced vibration (FIV/AIV) and corrosion/material compatibility
• Strong focus on project performance metrics: safety, quality, cost, and schedule
