Vestas Power Solutions is the cornerstone of Vestas. To put it short: Vestas Power Solutions develops the wind power systems of the future. As a part of Vestas Power Solutions, the Product Solutions & Integration is responsible for designing the product architecture and product roadmap in response to market roadmap requirements, translating product architecture and roadmap into module requirements, and full Value Chain Integration. Loads and Control (LaC), as part of Product Solutions & Integration, is responsible for designing and optimizing the product for load and control strategy together with cross-product design work. The department consists of highly skilled, international, well experienced engineers who are taking accountability for all aspects of the LaC solution delivered to the Products which are placed across 3 design locations: Portugal, Denmark and India.

The Loads and Control Quality department oversees fleet performance, including load and power performance. This team investigates the root causes of issues reported from the field and offers solutions to address them. Additionally, they share insights gained from failures with the design team.

Responsibilities

Your main tasks will focus on power curve validation efforts:
  • Review power performance test plans and results
  • Perform technical Root cause analysis to explain the performance deviations. Coordinate RCA efforts with great collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide statistical analysis with critical thinking skills that ensure scrutiny of data solutions prior to roll-out
  • Address any problem-solving needs by leveraging insights from networking with people.
  • Additionally, demonstrate proficiency in comprehending intricate electrical, mechanical, load & control, and sensor systems. Understand organizational structures and draw conclusions from complex data analysis
  • Be a good team member in a global environment with a geographically dispersed and multicultural team


Qualifications
  • Have a relevant technical education, such as a Bachelor's or Master's degree in, e.g., mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, controls & power systems engineering
  • 7-10 years of experience in the wind industry, specifically in wind measurements, configuring measurement masts, control system engineering, wind sensors, SCADA data analysis, and power curve verification testing
  • Knowledge of Measnet and IEC 61400-12-1 International standard
  • Basic understanding of turbine operations
  • Knowledge about coding (mainly R and Python)
  • Speak and write English and have good communication skills, enabling the presentation and discussion of results with the stakeholders
