As a Loss Prevention Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that safety and risk mitigation strategies are effectively integrated into the design and operation of Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement safety systems that protect personnel, assets, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and QRA studies.
  • Develop and maintain risk registers and safety action plans.
  • Define and specify fire and gas detection systems, fire protection systems, and passive fire protection.
  • Ensure proper layout and segregation of hazardous areas (ATEX zoning).
  • Review and validate escape routes, muster areas, and emergency shutdown systems.
  • Ensure designs comply with international standards (e.g., API, DNV, ABS, IEC) and local regulations.
  • Liaise with classification societies and regulatory bodies for approvals and audits.
  • Collaborate with process, piping, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to embed safety requirements.
  • Review engineering deliverables to ensure alignment with safety objectives.
  • Prepare technical reports, safety philosophies, and design basis documents.
  • Support project reviews, client meetings, and safety workshops.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in loss prevention or safety engineering, preferably in offshore oil & gas or FPSO projects.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Proficiency in safety software tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with FPSO design and operation.
  • Familiarity with layout optimization for safety.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
