KBR requires a Weapons Systems Engineer, located in the Dayton, OH, area to support the Simulators Division (AFLCMC/WNS) for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC). The Simulators Division is responsible for the lifecycle logistics elements associated with acquisition, training, and sustainment of simulators fielded at operating locations around the globe. Mission areas include integrated logistics, engineering support, post-production upgrades, supply chain management, support equipment sustainment, readiness and cost reduction management and business operations.

Job Summary:
KBR requires a Weapons Systems Engineer, located in the Dayton, OH, area to support the Simulators Division (AFLCMC/WNS) for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC). The Simulators Division is responsible for the lifecycle logistics elements associated with acquisition, training, and sustainment of simulators fielded at operating locations around the globe. Mission areas include integrated logistics, engineering support, post-production upgrades, supply chain management, support equipment sustainment, readiness and cost reduction management and business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and coordinate Acceptance Test Plans (ATPs) for Government Acceptance Tests (GATs), including test case definition, acceptance criteria, and procedures
- Review Performance Work Statements (PWS) to ensure contractor compliance with engineering requirements; serve as a liaison between integrated product teams and contractors
- Conduct technical evaluations of contract proposals, assessing feasibility, technical merit, and cost-effectiveness; identify risks and recommend improvements
- Review and validate Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRLs) for completeness, accuracy, and compliance; provide timely feedback and deposition
- Participate in key engineering meetings such as:
- Simulators Common Architecture and Requirements (SCARs)
- Simulator Engineering Change Board (SECB)
- Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs)
- Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs)
- Program Management Reviews (PMRs)
- Configuration Working Groups (CWGs)
- Manage project timelines for both quick-turn and long-term engineering efforts. Monitor progress, identify risks to schedule, and ensure timely delivery of milestones and deliverables
- Prepare senior leadership for technical meetings and engagements by synthesizing complex information into clear, actionable insights. Ensure leaders are equipped with the necessary context and data to support informed decision-making
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical/software engineering and 12 years of directly related experience are required
- DoD Clearance Requirement: Secret, upgrade to TS will be required
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles, development of verification and certification requirements, and understanding the Air Force's acquisition processes
- Strong understanding of government acquisition and testing processes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to analyze technical documentation and present findings to stakeholders
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), particularly Cameo Models
- Engineering experience with Operational Training Simulation, Training Planning and Management, Payload systems (F-15, F-16, F-18, UH-1, or Apache), and/or DoD Certification (interface control documents, tracking weapon system compliance to sponsor capability production documents)
- Experience working in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center or other DoD organization
- Experience with NAWCAD-NAVAIR and familiarity with Next Generation Threat System (NGTS)
- Experience with the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) integration
