About This Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Engineer I - Program Lead for programs in the Pacific Northwest. In this role, you will be the client lead for industrial and commercial energy efficiency services to various long-time utility clients around the Pacific Northwest (OR, WA, BC). This role will also support the ramp up and delivery of new work as it is won with other clients in this region. Our current energy efficiency programs include a mixture of engineering analyses, energy efficiency tune-ups, data center M&V work, energy efficiency capital project development, and work supporting the WA State Clean Buildings Act. The work is roughly 75% industrial and 25% commercial. This role is expected to perform some engineering work and work closely with Engineering and Outreach Managers to appropriately resource staff to perform the balance of the work.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Build trust, foster positive relationships with the client, and quickly address issues to ensure high levels of satisfaction with the client.
  • Manage client communication through meetings, phone calls, emails, and other regular methods of engagement to ensure clarity.
  • Clarify program and contract guidelines, including parameters, deliverables, and budget.
  • Report to the client on expenditures, activities, achievements, and progress to goal in a manner that is simple, timely, accurate, complete, succinct, transparent, and suited to the client's needs.
  • Problem solve; develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated outcomes.
  • Provide our client with a trusted point of contact, provide focused attention to our client care-abouts, minimize the burden placed on clients, and provide clients with industry intelligence.
  • Work closely with the NW Engineering Manager to ensure that work for each utility program is appropriately staffed. Similar work with the Outreach Team Manager may also be needed.
  • Collaborate with Customer Engagement and the Programs West Director to drive new scopes of work and lines of business with customers in the region.
  • Act as the liaison between the client and the NW Engineering Team. Provide quality control (QC) for work products coming from other teams before they are delivered to the client. Ensure both technical and programmatic information is accurate and complete. Relay key client care-abouts to the Engineering team.
  • Conduct engineering scoping visits to various industry types, develop high level engineering reports, and draft proposals and scopes of work for sharing with the client and to internal resources.
  • Complete in-depth technical engineering analyses and reports as needed to fill workload.
  • Ensure that savings goals are met. Accelerate or decelerate the flow of savings in keeping with guidance from our clients while minimizing impacts and concerns of the participant end-user customers.
  • Manage overall contract budgets, working with the Engineering team to assign appropriate budgets for each individual scope of work, tracking on-budget and on-time delivery for each client. Ensure program revenue and profitability goals are met.
  • Understand M&V methodologies and local energy policy (as appropriate) and leverage that understanding to optimize savings pathways for both client success and Cascade profitability.
  • Oversee the communication of the program to vendors and trade allies in a manner that drives increased program participation.
  • Develop relationships to create, share, and celebrate client success stories.

This is a full-time, exempt position to be located in Oregon or Washington; the preferred location would be Olympia to Bellingham and Seattle to Moses Lake WA. Travel for this role is anticipated for on-site visits or meeting with clients approximately two times a month.

Applicants for this role are required to have:
