Overview
Lead integrated reservoir studies and reservoir management of the QatarEnergy

operated oil fields to optimize field development plans. Lead and contribute to reservoir

simulation modelling studies including model construction and update, reservoir/well

performance analysis, reservoir surveillance program, infill and workover well

programs and reservoir management activities. Support and follow-up on third-party

reservoir & modelling studies ensuring technical quality and progress. Formulate

detailed/integrated development plans for both developed and undeveloped

hydrocarbon resources. Identify key reservoir and development risks and uncertainties

and recommend mitigation plans. Provide guidance to younger team members, and

on-the-job training for young engineers.

Experience
Required
• Prefer 15 years work experience as a Reservoir Engineer in the Oil and Gas
industry with demonstrated Reservoir studies/surveillance/performance
optimization expertise in large oil and gas fields and oil rim development,
emphasizing carbonate reservoirs.
• Significant experience working on mature oil fields under waterflood.
• Experience in transient well test interpretation, material balance modelling and
performance prediction of vertical and horizontal wells.
• Strong experience in numerical reservoir simulation model construction and
quality control (blackoil and compositional), initialization, history matching,
uncertainty evaluation and model forecasting techniques.
• Strong experience in field development planning, recovery estimation, improved
recovery techniques (e.g. waterflood and gas re-injection).
• Strong knowledge in reservoir surveillance and monitoring techniques and related
uncertainties.
• Good experience in reserves and resource evaluation, classification and booking
(SPE PRMS or SEC standards).
• Knowledge and experience in reservoir fluid sampling, fluid property modelling,
routine and special core analysis.
• Knowledge in uncertainty analysis and risk assessment/ management.
• Must have strong teamwork skills. Experience working in a multicultural
environment is a plus. Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, less experienced staff, field
staff and management
• Must have experience mentoring less experienced engineers.
• BSc in Engineering (preferably in Petroleum Engineering) or Applied Sciences.
Desirable
• Knowledge in EOR techniques in particular miscible/immiscible gas injection and
CO2 WAG development.
• Desirable to working knowledge of gas condensate reservoir, gas recycling
schemes, and gas field development experience.
• MSc in Petroleum Engineering or Applied Sciences.
