EngineeringGas Turbine Technician Business Unit: Sulzer Turbo Services, Houston, Inc. Department: Services_AME Reports to: Eric Mitchell Company Overview: Sulzer Turbo Services (STS) is an independent provider of services and repairs of critical turbomachinery.
We specialize in the repair, overhaul, and replacement of parts for high-speed rotating equipment such as steam and gas turbines, compressors, expanders, and other industrial rotating equipment found primarily in the Oil & Gas, Pipeline, Petrochemical, Ammonia, Nitric Acid, Fertilizer and Power Generation markets.
Responsibilities:
• Work independently and with team members to disassemble, inspect, conduct minor repairs, assemble, and modify gas turbine engines, turbines, accessories, and support systems.
• Adhere to detailed work instructions and procedures assigned by the supervisor and monitored by a quality inspector.
• Acquire personal tools and hardware to perform the work. Specialized tools provided by Sulzer.
• Operate instrumentation to perform pressure and flow tests.
• Review all phases of tasks, as specified by work instructions, to perform self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Inspect, operate, and maintain shop equipment, facilities, and support systems. Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Up to 3 months of hands-on jet engine mechanic experience
• 1+ year experience in Diesel or Aviation Engine Repair
• A&P License or Military Equivalent Experience
• Formal training in power plant mechanics and operation
