The Analytics Engineer is instrumental in helping build and maintain the data foundation that empowers data-driven decision-making within Europe. Their experience supports the gap between data science and engineering, ensuring data accessibility, quality, and efficiency.

They will build reusable European data assets by using the environment and infrastructure established by data engineers. The code will be used to generate these assets, and it will ensure code maintenance through standard methodologies in software engineering.

Through understanding organizational needs and user requirements, they will develop data assets that are usable and reusable. Ensuring that data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders can access data seamlessly is an integral part of the role.

In summary, alongside the Advanced Analytics Manager, the Analytics Engineer will blend technical expertise with business insight to enable data-driven decision-making across Europe.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • To work together with app/web developers, data analytics/science/engineering teams.
  • To leverage data to drive significant business impact by providing insights and actionable recommendations.
  • To support the delivery of well-defined, transformed, tested, documented, and code-reviewed datasets for analysis to support European analytics/predictive initiatives.
  • To build data aggregation pipelines using Python, Spark, or SQL.
  • To create robust data models and architectures to support European analytics/predictive initiatives.
  • To collaborate with European Product Owners & SMEs to understand their analytics needs and deliver comprehensive models to support their reports & dashboards with predictive insights to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • To support and implement optimizations to continually enhance query performance, reduce processing time, and increase overall productivity.
  • To design, develop and oversee data pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable ETL processes.
  • To collaborate with data scientists to integrate advanced analytics & machine learning algorithms into analytics workflows.
  • To ensure data quality and accuracy by implementing data validation, monitoring, and error-handling processes.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • University degree in computer science, data science, data analysis, or equivalent experience.
  • At least two years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or a similar role.
  • Experience in data modelling and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes, data integration, etc.
  • Proficient programming ability using languages/tools such as R, Python, etc. for data manipulation and scripting.
  • Strong communication skills for optimal collaboration with multi-functional teams and presentation of insights to European Product Owners & SMEs.
  • Proficient in English.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) knowledge.
  • Good ability in SQL for data extraction and manipulation, and knowledge of data warehousing concepts/tools such as Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure for data storage and processing.
  • Understanding of relevant data governance, data quality, and data security standard processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
