EngineeringGolden Pass LNG, a joint venture of Qatar Energy & ExxonMobil, has an exciting opportunity in Operations at our Sabine Pass, TX location (approximately 10 minutes from Port Arthur, TX). We are looking for team members that have a proven track record of providing support, have strong intrapersonal and communication skills, and are self-motivated and self-directed to be a part of our transformation from an import facility to the premier LNG exporter in North America.
The Pipeline Technician will be responsible for performing regulatory surveillance, Control of work, response and recover activities. This person will coordinate with contractors who perform specialized tasks. The Pipeline Operator will also be responsible for performing necessary one-call responses and marking activities and follows up on any encroachment concerns. Performs and/or coordinate, diagnoses and troubleshoots complex pipeline operations and maintenance activities on systems including compressor stations, measurement facilities, and related equipment.
The Pipeline Technician is a DOT covered position (PHMSA).

Essential Duties / Functions
- Perform preventive pipeline facility maintenance and work described under the job progression system for the pipeline operator job family
- Function as Area Operator in control of work permitting system
- Learn and participate in all modes of station operations
- Maintain and/or operate including startup and shutdown all pipeline facilities including Valves, Piping, Pigging Activities, Right of Ways, Inspection of third-party activities, Meter Stations, and Regulator Stations.
- Exchange information regarding pipeline operations, maintenance, measurement, and other activities with public/governmental officials, employees, contractors, customers, producers, and landowners as required
- May coordinate/have oversight of employees engaged in pipeline operations, maintenance, and other activities
- Conducts visual, auditory, and mechanical inspections of equipment to determine the extent of repairs needed and to identify needed replacement parts
- Anticipate changes in work demands and identify assignments or training to meet those demands
- Inspects and adjusts components on equipment to prevent premature failure of items
- Measures pipeline and soil potential differentials using voltmeter and checks rectifier output
- Respond to callouts during evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Contribute toward Gas Safety Excellence goals by improving safety, reliability, and affordability for one or more asset families and one or more life cycles
Minimum education required of the position.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor or Associate degree or relevant technical discipline or equivalent work experience
Minimum experience required of the position.
- Minimum three years of related experience in oil and gas manufacturing facilities
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position.
- Strong knowledge and experience in permit-to-work systems
- Experience maintaining and operating FERC/DOT regulated natural gas pipeline
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and PC skills
- Experience with mechanical and/or controls systems
- Experience performing regulatory required surveillance and damage prevention activities
- Ability to effectively lead, delegate and motivate
- Strone interpersonal skills
- Ability to create a strong team environment
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to communicate fluently in English
- Self-starter with ability to work strategically under little direction
- Ability to focus on meeting/exceeding performance parameters
- Strong attention to details

- State issued Current and Valid Driver's License - Pursuant to PHMSA, this is a DOT covered position with all applicable laws and regulations pertaining thereof.
