We are looking for a Quality Technician to join our Plant Operations team. The Quality Technician is responsible for providing quality testing, analysis, sampling, inspection, auditing, and review during the manufacturing processes to ensure that products comply with quality standards and production quality and schedule are being achieved. Supports and promotes overall safety and quality program initiatives within the plant environment.
Responsibilities
Perform incoming sampling, inspection and documentation of materials and packaging. Inspect, test, and analyze incoming material before use in production. Record findings and reports of any deviations or NCR's
Perform receiving, inspection and documentation of incoming Carbon Dioxide CO2 loads. Conduct scheduled sampling, testing, and analysis.
Assist with the review of statistical process data and log KPI's to ensure production quality is being achieved
Perform finish product quality sampling, testing, and documentation on weight, leak, valve torque, and product quality specs
Collect, review, and analyze the quality data from all incoming, in-process, and finish product process checks
Assist with the review and revision of existing work instructions, forms, and checklists, and create new documents as needed
Assist with coaching and training of plant employees. Train and support manufacturing personnel in quality systems to maximize product quality
Supports the continuous training, record keeping, and maintenance of the quality practices within the plant
Provide assessments, documentation, and reporting on non-conforming materials and products in the plant
Assist with root cause investigations and corrective/preventative actions for non-conformances in the plant. Initiates problem solving activities relating to plant parameter issues
Review and maintain quality testing devices calibration records
Act as a point-of contact through professional judgment in evaluation and resolution to quality concerns in the absence of the Quality Manager
Assist in the implementation of quality systems to achieve ISO 22000 certification. Conducts ongoing audits with the facility to ensure company quality standards are being complied with
Ensure all safety and work procedures are followed in the efficient use of PPE
Other duties as assigned.
Inspects, test, record and review statistical process data to ensure production quality is being achieved
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma plus 2 years of prior quality control experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Familiar with ISO 22000 & ISO 9001
Strong ability to work with data by performing quality-related calculations and statistical analysis.
Ability to perform problem solving utilizing evidence-based approach, root cause analysis and corrective and preventative action
Detail oriented, goal oriented and ability to complete tasks under deadline
Strong verbal and written communication skills demonstrated ability to influence.
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and teamwork
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to be proactive by seeking solutions and opportunity for improvements
Manufacturing environment with varying noise and temperatures.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
The expected compensation range for this position is up to $78,000 per year.
Confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
