Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Lead Operational Safety Advisor based onshore in Aberdeen. This is an exciting opportunity with a highly regarded Operator, in a well established team, and is core PAYE contract role. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Act as HSSE focal point for Technical Services activities and related incident reporting, synergi case management and HSSE improvement plans.
  • Supporting the categorisation of each Incident and HSEFORM178 report completion
  • In line with GM-OT-DW-202, liaise with Drilling and Wells Safety and Methods lead to fulfil the Operational Safety Leader (OSL) roles and responsibilities.
  • Maintain a high awareness of industry and professional best practice through effective networking, professional organisations, journals, etc.
  • Act as operational safety focal point for drilling & Vessel safety advisers
  • Assist in the compilation of SIMOPS dossiers for simultaneous operations between Operations and Construction/Operations and Drilling, Siesmic and Operations
  • Proactive engagement with multiple departments in support of a range of projects and long-term energy industry operations.
  • Assist in the development of Bridging/interface documents
  • Support Safety Critical Task Analysis for Drilling & Wells with support from the Operational Safety Leader
  • Maintenance and development of Operational Safety standards, procedures, systems and tools, including the production of appropriate Level 2 procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the company’s management system relating to safety and health is fully implemented within TS
  • Responsible for the input of Health and Safety audits and compliance monitoring activities into the annual verification plan through a risk-based assessment looking at areas such as legal compliance and incident trends and conducting audits and compliance monitoring activities as required.
  • Responsible for the HSSE evaluation of contractors during the tender process and the follow up of any recommendations made during the HSSE evaluation.
  • Responsible for maintenance and development of the HSSE Tender L2 and process.
  • Support the implementation of Safety Culture & Occupational Health and Operations Safety training, within TS Departments and suppliers.
  • Support Safety rep engagement in company
  • Support and delivery of World Day For Safety and World Health Day initiatives with the TS area
  • Development, implementation and monitoring of behavioural safety and safety observation programmes in the TS area.
  • Support Project Occupational Health and Operational Safety.
  • Support Synergi and Central HSSE Occupational Health and Operational Safety reporting requirements
  • Maintain a high awareness of industry and professional best practice through effective networking, professional organisations, journals, etc.
  • Assist in the input of Safety objectives into the annual HSSE improvement plan.
  • Responsible for providing the required support to Technical Services during implementation of safety and occupational health plans and procedures. This support may require spending a period of time on the operational site during roll-out and implementation.
  • Conduct accident investigation/root cause analysis
  • Assist in ensuring HSSE processes, procedures and rules are effectively implemented across company
  • Provide input to Contractor Performance review meetings.
  • Assist in communicating information relating to incidents across the business
 
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Site experience
  • Professional safety/occupational health qualification
  • Significant relevant experience
  • Capable of influencing the impact of emerging legislation and industry trends
  • Representing the company at an industry level and leading/facilitating workgroups
  • Good knowledge of UK onshore and offshore health & safety legislation, sufficient to offer good advice without reference, and be able to offer detailed advice through reference to documentation
  • Thorough knowledge of company and group health & safety standards and procedures
  • Auditor trained.
  • Trained to lead investigations of significant accidents/incidents
  • Possess current Offshore Survival Certificate and OEUK medical
