This Position reports to:
Director of R&D - Engineer To Order

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.


You will be mainly accountable for:

• Support development of custom motor product 10-2000 HP for three manufacturing locations. The primary tool of use is SolidWorks.
• Work closely with senior development engineers to model new products.
• Support product development testing.
• Capable of learn basics of design and testing of electric motors.
• Co-op engineer is expected to complete 3 semesters with ABB at the CUICAR location.

Qualifications:

• Currently in their sophomore year enrolled in a bachelor's Mechanical Engineering degree program in the United States, and graduating between Dec 202 6 and June 202 8 .

• Experience with SolidWorks or other modeling tools is required.
• Strong team skills are required, but you must also be able to work independently.

• Desire to learn and grow from a diverse set of experiences and people.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• A growth mindset focused on continual learning and improvement

• Must have valid US work authorization and must not require sponsorship for an employment visa by ABB at any time in the future.

The hourly rate is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications, graduation year and experience. This position is expected to pay between $20 - $34 per hour.
