Job Title: Civil Works Engineer

Location: Mozambique - remote Afungi site

Job Description:

As Civil Works Engineer, you will join our CIVIL Department/Function, in the business line ENCAR (Energy Carriers), conducting the following activities:

• Review Tender technical documents
• Identify technical queries, deviations and alternatives to be submitted
• Prepare detailed BOQ for civil works and buildings and MTO for steel structure
• Prepare engineering manhours and items, bulk and material costs estimations
• Ensure the assigned goals achievement and the fulfilment of the project quality and contractual requirements
• Prepare design specification for civil works (e.g. concrete works, plant roads, underground networks, piling works)
• Prepare documentation for technical annexes for engineering activities subcontracting
• Develop drain water, sewage system layout, plumbing system design
• Develop studies for foundations and concrete structures
• Ensure proper quality checks of all Discipline project documents including Vendors documents
• Provide technical support to Project functions including Procurement and Construction
• Support Discipline leader/Technical Manager or Field Engineering Manager in technical interface with Client
• Prepare technical documentation for civil material requisition and assist the procurement dept. in the technical evaluations
• Prepare together with Discipline leader Technical Bid Evaluations
• Design of functional layouts, architectural aspects (3D modelling), finishing and furniture
• Provide support field engineering at Site

What are we looking for?

• Education: Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (any); Master Degree in Hydraulics or Risk Mitigation or Structural would be a plus
• Languages: English Language skills required
• Years of experience: 7-10 years of experience with extensive knowledge of standard engineering methods, technologies and computerized design techniques.
• IT Knowledge: CAD (Autocad / BRICS Cad), CIVIL 3D, TEKLA Structures, Autodesk SSA (preferred) or equivalent, MS Office, Structural software for concrete design (e.g. MAT Foundation or excel spreadsheets)
• Soft skills: Experience in working in a project team of engineers and able to function (based upon prior experience) in both the design and operational environment and be able to adapt to different work conditions in office and at site.
• Nice to have: Previous experience in Oil & Gas and large projects is preferred. Supervisory experience related to plant and project engineering with increasing size and responsibility.
• What else should you know? The Afungi site is located in a remote area, so you need to be open to and willing to work and live in a remote located area.
