EngineeringWe are looking for a Structural Superintendent for one of our clients with the following details:
Location: Doha, Qatar
Estimated Start Date: ASAP
Estimated End Date: 01 Aug 2025
Contract Duration: 36 months
Qualification and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
Knowledge and/or Experience
- 8 years experience with Large Projects in Construction related disciplines a Mechanical supervisor or Mechanical completion/ Pre-commissioning specialist / senior Pre-commissioning Inspector for Oil and Gas offshore facilities, especially subsea structure and wellhead Topside platforms including 1 year of experience in supervisory role.
- 3-5 years international experience as Structural Superintendent on medium-to large-scale and complex offshore projects.
- Good understanding in completions database (ICAPS), pre-comm. Procedures and Hand-over deliverables.
- Experience with ICAPS database use and ITR/Punch management.
Technical and Business Skills
- Full knowledge of Structural steel Fabrication of Subsea structures and Pipeline structures like WYE and Tee skids and load out.
- A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Strong organizational, planning and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel and other relevant applications.
- Excellent communication / written skills and ability to work with different disciplines.
- Undertakes complex tasks and acts as a source of guidance for staff and internal customers. Is expected to handle all but the most complex problems and difficulties that might arise.
- Takes initiatives, based on experienced gained, to deliver timely and cost effective service.
- Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
- Sets situations/issues in the context of the entire team and has an appreciation of the wider relationships with other people and organizations.
- Works independently within established procedures, plans and budgets and contributes to the development of these.
- Has autonomy over scheduling and planning of own work; organizes efforts of work group to achieve overall efficiency.
- High awareness of safe working practices associated with design, construction of structural Fabrication of sub-sea structures and pipeline associated structures like WYE skids and Tee skids.
Key Job Accountabilities
- Provides Structural steel Fabrication expertise, to lead safe execution of Fabrication activities in accordance with project deliverables and execution schedule. Demonstrate leadership in planning and execution driving EPC contractor to deliver as per project milestones.
- Maintains close liaison with members of Engineering, quality, construction, Marine/installation Teams and accountable for ensuring execution of work is technically aligned in compliance with project objectives, specification and industry best practices.
- Guides Contractor's Load out activities and validating contractors, including vendors, subcontractor resources, personnel qualifications, usage of appropriate tools; adherence to project objectives, requirements, specifications, and verification processes. Ensure Contractor/ Sub Contractor adhere to Project SHES procedures.
- Review and monitor project Design, including Engineering / Site Queries, Field Design Changes, Deviation Requests, Non-Conformance Reports and EPC Contractor design change or deviations from company directives ensuring compliance with management of change procedures.
- Assesses and validates Contractor's procedures for SIMOPS, Work under Permit, load out s and perform progress measurement.
- Coordinate the delivery Load out deliverables updates/readiness and support COMPANY CPLO and CONTRACTOR's Construction site engineering team.
- Responsible for following up and assuring schedule and related milestones are achieved, provides data (rundown curves, charts, graphs), identify material & skills gaps, develop recovery plans to address any schedule delays if any.
- Accountable for knowledge of and sharing previous lessons learned, capturing, and communicating current lessons learned to support review teams and future projects.
- Develop and issue daily and weekly reports on progress, performance, initiatives, issues, and challenges to Head of Fabrication.
- Review the load out sequence and schedule. Provides input to and review development of contractor's detailed plans to complete the work. Reviewing the scope of construction and identifying any possible anomalies during construction.
