Job Opportunity: Electrical / Pre-Commissioning Supervisor We are seeking an experienced Electrical / Pre-Commissioning Supervisor to join a major onshore Greenfield oil and gas project in Uganda. This is a rotational position offering a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a multicultural and high-profile environment.
Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer and supporting the Industrial Area Superintendent, you will:
  • Supervise and control field engineering/site activities related to the electrical discipline during construction.
  • Oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, ensuring strict compliance with detailed engineering design, specifications, and international standards.
  • Act as primary supervisor for a dedicated construction site area, ensuring adherence to the construction schedule and work-front priorities.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance on electrical installation, testing, and calibration.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess quality, productivity, and compliance with HSE requirements.
  • Coordinate effectively across disciplines, contractors, and vendors to resolve interface issues.
  • Support planning, reporting, and progress monitoring (daily/weekly/monthly reports).
  • Ensure alignment with environmental protection and project HSE standards.
Context This project is based in Buliisa, Uganda, in a sensitive environmental setting near Lake Albert. It involves large-scale facilities for heavy oil production, treatment, and transport, with complex challenges including high-voltage installations, hazardous area compliance, and strict international standards.
Candidate Profile
  • Education: HND, Diploma, or equivalent in Electrical discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 12 years in oil and gas or petrochemical large construction projects, with strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Experience with high-voltage installations, switchgear, drives, and hazardous area inspection.
  • Knowledge of international codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Previous experience with major IOCs or EPC contractors is advantageous.
  • Valid Compex certification and HV authorised person status preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, and IT skills.
  • Fluent in English with valid medical certification.
