Job Description
GovFirst is seeking to hire multiple Industrial Trades Technicians III - Plumbers/Pipefitters to support mechanical maintenance operations in various locations across Virginia which includes Bristol, Fredericksburg, Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Newport News, Suffolk, Surry, Salem, Lynchburg, Staunton, Culpeper & Richmond, VA within the Transportation Operations Division. These positions focus on providing expert plumbing and steam fitting services in industrial environments, ensuring the proper functioning of critical infrastructure systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical Systems Maintenance

  • Lead worker and specialist in plumbing and steam fitting services within industrial settings.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and installation of pumps, boilers, water mains, fire hydrants, sump pumping systems, sewage ejectors, and tunnel drain systems.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC systems and diagnose mechanical failures.

Trade Expertise

  • Apply knowledge of standard practices, materials, and processes used in the mechanical trade.
  • Handle heating systems, water supply equipment, drainage systems, and related mechanical apparatus.
  • Utilize tools and instruments to repair mechanical failures and ensure equipment functionality.

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow established safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Operate mechanical equipment according to design specifications and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.

Requirements
Experience
  • Journeyman-level plumber or steamfitter with extensive experience in industrial mechanical trades.
  • Demonstrated ability to install, maintain, and repair complex systems in demanding environments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tank endorsement required.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead others in technical tasks.
  • Skilled in the use of tools and mechanical equipment.
