JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is recruiting for a National Rotating Equipment Technician based in Equatorial Guinea. This will be based on a 28 x 28 rotation and is only open to EG nationals.

The Rotating Equipment Specialist will be a senior member of the cross functional Maintenance team and works to ensure safe, reliable, and cost effective operation and maintenance of all major rotating equipment. The Rotating Equipment Specialist is the subject matter expert (SME) for all major rotating equipment and provides technical assurance to ensure that all major rotating equipment and system components are operated and maintained in a manner consistent with regulatory rules, company standards and industry best practices.
This offshore position reports via the Maintenance Foreman to the Maintenance Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with Engineering and Maintenance support to ensure rotating equipment operability, availability and reliability meet design
  • Directly support the Operations Team in fault diagnosis and root cause failure analysis of major rotating equipment problems using a systematic approach
  • Plan and support repairs/upgrades to major rotating equipment for safe, reliable, and cost effective operations according to applicable OEM & company requirements and specifications
  • Coordinate and Supervise Field Repair Contractors in performing repair and maintenance activities on major rotating equipment according to manufacturers' recommendations and company requirements
  • Works with Reliability Engineer to ensure all relevant OEM Technical alerts are addressed and corrective actions taken as required
  • Directly provide technical assurance overview and support for rotating equipment systems and documentation to ensure safe, reliable, and cost effective operation and maintenance
  • Recommends and assists in developing maintenance policies, routines, and frequencies
  • Develop maintenance and/or overhaul scope and/or procedures for major pieces of rotating equipment associated with routine repairs, as well as Turnarounds
  • Develop spare part strategy for new installations and oversee implementation. Also review spare part strategy for existing equipment as needed
  • Lead the development of MOC's that are discipline specific and participate in MOC's that require cross-functional review
  • Focal point and technical leader for the installation and commissioning of new rotating equipment.
  • Ensure that OJT Program is carried out according to company expectations and standards
  • Actively promote safety and optimize operating efficiency
  • Lead by example and mentor other personnel with client
  • Ensures work is performed according to all applicable codes, company and industry standards
  • Assists the Maintenance Foreman as required


QUALIFICATIONS

Qualification / Certification:
• Associates Degree, Engineering Degree, Vocational/Trade school, NVQ/SVQ 2, Certified Apprenticeship or equivalent required.
• Minimum requirement is technology certificate from trade school plus direct relevant experience.
• Hands on experience in the troubleshooting and repair of Centrifugal Compressors, Gas Turbines, Gears, Mechanical Seals, ANSI / API Pumps
• T2 Certification
• BOSIET or HUET training

Experience:
• Extensive previous oil and gas experience in relevant Trade (Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation)
• Hands on experience in the troubleshooting and repair of Centrifugal Compressors, Gas Turbines, Gears, Mechanical Seals, ANSI / API Pumps
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of Operation, Control and Maintenance of Gas Turbines, Compressors, Pumps, including best maintenance practices, troubleshooting, and repair
• Perform pre-job planning and hazard assessment, and risk assessment
• Advanced knowledge and application of electrical theory, ladder logic and appropriate level mathematical skills
• Advanced equipment condition monitoring techniques and analysis
• Equipment isolation Permit to Work, and LOTO process
• Preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance procedures
• Knowledge of offshore oil and gas facility emergency procedures and safety systems
• Ability to read, understand and follow schematics, technical manuals, procedures, PFD's, P&ID's, Safe Charts, and one line diagrams
• Use FAT data and condition monitoring data to detect problems and identify trends
• Current knowledge of industry best practices, equipment and tools
• Advanced working knowledge of the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to include critical spares, requisitions, and interface with procurement, materials and logistics

Personal:
• Advanced computer skills (Microsoft office)
• Communicate in a clear and effective manner using written and verbal English
• Ability to interact with engineering support and other technical personnel to resolve issues
