Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will act as a design authority for painting and sealing systems. You will handle projects of varying complexity, conduct offline simulations. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing application parameters, executing trials at ABB and customer sites, and supporting robot calibration. The work model for the role is: #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation Business Area in Friedberg (Germany). You will be mainly accountable for: • Conducting offline simulations. • Defining, validating, and optimizing application technique parameters and sequences, including on-site at customer locations. • Playing an active role in planning, executing, documenting, and optimizing painting/sealing trials both at ABB and customer sites. • Providing support in robot measurement and calibration. • Loading and running programs on-site. You will join a high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role

• You are highly skilled in working with painting materials and processes, and have experience with robots, particularly in offline programming using RobotStudio.
• You have advanced skills and can demonstrate your experience in the field of painting and sealing systems, with several years of hands-on experience.
• You are innovative and passionate about optimizing application parameters and sequences, and have strong problem-solving skills.
• Degree in Technical Education (Mechatronics), or you are a certified technician or hold a Bachelor's degree.
• Comfortable with field service activities (30-50% travel required).
• You are at ease communicating in English and German.
• You hold current driving licenses valid in the job location and have the necessary work permits/VISA for Germany.
