POSITION SUMMARY:
Instrumentation technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and calibrating electrical equipment’s used in NGHC 380KV grid network system. Electrical instrumentation technician may also be tasked with monitoring the performance of these equipment’s, systems to ensure they’re operating correctly. This might include checking pressure gauges, observing flow meters, checking induction testing instruments, earth testers, voltage gauges etc.
NATURE & SCOPE:
The main functions of this position are:
Installation includes mounting, wiring, connecting, testing, configuring, and programming the protection relays, instruments and devices.
Maintenance includes routine calibration, and functional testing of process different type of protection relays, instruments and devices, documentation of calibration data collected during inspections utilizing the instrument inspection monitoring system, verification of data communication systems that provide real time process and alarm information to the facility control center.
Troubleshooting includes the utilization of equipment such as a laptop computer, multi-meter, instrument/device communicator, device software, documenting process calibrator, etc.
Develops and maintains interactive work relationships to accurately and effectively complete job responsibilities.
Directs, advises, instructs, inspects, supports, and/or assists contractors and employees in operation, and maintenance, troubleshooting of assets. Ensures regulatory and compliance standards are met.
Participate in EPC contractor site installation, testing and commissioning activities.
