Our valued client, a key Oil & Gas client are seeking a Civil Structural Engineer to join their Calgary team on a long term contract basis.


SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Established the project C/S design bases and ensures these are met by the contractor designs.
• Reviews contractor design documents to ensure they are consistent with / better than the current Albian infrastructure.  This requires a good understanding of the existing plant infrastructure.
• Participates in design reviews as required.  These may include model reviews, constructability reviews, and site walkdowns. 
• Prepares in-house Construction Work Packages for related scopes and early works.
• Respond to Contractor RFIs and/or issue DCNs and FCNs as required.
• Any other C/S related works that is needed to support the Plant.
• Excellent grasp over the NBC, CSA S16, CSA W59, CSA A23.1, CSA A23.3 and Steel/Concrete Handbook.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

• Engineering Degree in Structural Engineering with PEng designation, registered with APEGA
• 5 years of direct Oil Sands experience is preferred, with design and field experience as a Civil Structural Engineer in a Bitumen Production Facility.
• Experience with STAAD Pro and S-Frame would be an asset.
• Be able to effectively communicate with operations and maintenance teams.
