Reporting to: Operations Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our team at our Birmingham depot as a Generator Engineer to safely maintain, refurbish and repair generators and support the operations team in maintaining and refurbishing site accommodation.

This role is 45 hours per week, with hours scheduled between 7am and 5pm. Monday to Friday. Hourly rate is £17.45, with any additional hours paid at 1 and a 1/2 times the basic rate.

Main Job Responsibilities
  • Undertake pre-delivery servicing and safety checks of generators
  • Undertake proactive repairs of generators to maximise fleet availability
  • Undertake emergency generator repairs at customers' sites as required
  • Liaise with Operations Manager to obtain parts and spares to fulfill service schedule
  • As directed by the Operations Manager, support the wider operations team with maintenance of site accommodation to meet delivery schedules

The successful candidate will have:
  • Experience of diagnosing and repairing commercial generators
  • Experience of completing cyclical generator maintenance schedules
  • Ability to competently install plumbing and electrical fittings
  • Willingness to undertake a variety of tasks from cleaning, painting and fabrication to assist the team in the preparation of site accommodation
