EngineeringEnter the fascinating world of the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) and help shape the future through research and innovation! We offer an exciting and inspiring working environment driven by the expertise and curiosity of our 11,000 employees from 100 nations and our unique infrastructure. Together, we develop sustainable technologies and thus contribute to finding solutions to global challenges. Would you like to join us in addressing this major future challenge? Then this is your place! For our Institute of Networked Energy Systemsin Stuttgart we are looking for
Student Engineering, Energy Technology or similar (f/m/x)
Master Thesis: Extension of a tool to estimate electricity demand and flexibility potential of electric vehicles in EuropeWhat to expect: The Institute for Networked Energy Systems employs around 185 people at its sites in Oldenburg and Stuttgart. With its departments of Urban and Residential Technologies, Energy Systems Technology and Energy Systems Analysis, it is dedicated to system-technical and system-analytical issues concerning the intelligent and efficient coupling of the electricity, heat, industry and transport sectors. The Energy Systems Analysis department pursues the goal of enabling the optimal design of energy systems with high shares of renewable energies by providing detailed orientation knowledge. The Energy Systems Modelling group is dedicated to the analysis of energy systems transformation pathways in high spatial and temporal resolution, the further methodological development of energy systems models and the identification and open provision of data for these models. Within this framework, we are continuously developing the open-source tool venco.py that estimates demand profiles and flexibility potential for future electric vehicle fleets in an aggregated manner. The tool currently quantifies road and freight transport for Germany and, within the scope of this master's thesis, it is to be extended for other European countries. With your work you will help raise the quality and informative value of venco.py to estimate electric vehicles demand and flexibility potential. Specifically, the work entails the following tasks:
Duration of contract: 6 months
Type of employment: Vollzeit Remuneration: Je nach Qualifikation und Aufgabenübertragung bis Entgeltgruppe 5 TV EntgO Bund. Vacancy-ID: 96627 Contact:
