Our team are looking for a qualified and experienced skilled Gas Engineer/Plumber, to work as part of a busy team to complete a quality repairs service to our housing stock.

About the role

To carry out Gas repairs, Servicing and Plumbing works as required for the Gas and Plumbing reactive repairs teams.

Duites will include:
  • Carry out routine and emergency repairs in a safe and effective manner in accordance with all relevant regulations and legislation
  • Carry out installation work and repairs on either schedule of rates, priced or daywork basis as instructed by management
  • Carry out simple adjustments and disconnections to electrical equipment within agreed level of competence and training provided and in accordance with current Health and Safety legislation.
  • Carry out routine and emergency repairs on plumbing/gas appliances
  • Carry out occasional installation work.
  • Complete all paperwork, reports, service sheets, timesheets etc legibly and return to mainoffice promptly following completion of work on a daily basis.
  • The majority of work will be carried out in occupied properties so care must be exercised at all times to avoid damage to occupants' property. All tenants and other customers to be treated with courtesy and respect at all times.

About you

This is an exceptional opportunity; as such we are looking for people with:
  • Significant experience in gas installation, servicing and repair
  • A good general standard of education with GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • City and Guilds or equivalent qualification in plumbing/gas fitting or be able to show experience and a lower technical qualification
  • Must have current ACS (where applicable) CODE - CCN1/CENWAT/CKR1/CPA1/HTR1/MET1
  • Knowledge of Building Trades/Construction
  • Full UK driving license

Due to a requirement in this role to be part of our call out rota, candidates need to live a reasonable distance from Reading, this proximity is crucial to ensure a quick response time during call-outs, allowing us to maintain the high level of service expected.
