RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare C&I deliverables which include C&I specifications, calculations, philosphies procedures, and datasheets for assigned project.
- Prepare C&I equipment material purchase requisition including contract requitions such as DCS, ESD and Installation contracts and conduct technical bid evaluations.
- Single-point responsibility for all control and instrumentation engineering deliverables and ensure that they conform to all applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the customers standards, policies and procedures
- Input, review and approvals (as required) of design drawings such as loop drawings, termination drawings, hookups, location drawing, C&I panel layouts, system architecture drawings and interface and wiring philosophies.
- Provide direction and guidance on all technical queries relating to control and instrumentation engineering
- Participate in all project safety and design reviews such as Hazop and SIL reviews.
- Ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule.
- Prepare the instrumentation requirements for package units, supporting package specialists for material requsitions, technical clarifications and bid evaluations
- Liaise with the client Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion.
- Assist in preparation of C&I cost estimates and defining scopes of work for project execution and study proposals
- Integrate C&I requirements and scope with other disciplines.
- Manage suppliers including reviewing of supplier documentation and attending C&I equipment inspections and factory accepetance testing
- Support site team during construction and site accept testing of control systems
- Assisting with commissioning and handover.
- Ensure that the overall project is delivered to meet the asset operational needs
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:
- BSc, BEng (Electonic) or related Bachelors degree with equivalent experience.
- Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng registered
- Knowledge and application of Smartplant Intools
- 8 years minimum experience
- Previous experience on functional safety engineering (SANS 61508 and SANS 61511) and use of Exida software will be advantage
