Your role and responsibilities
Technical know-how in mechatronics, drive technology, control engineering, modeling and simulation - that's what it's all about if you want to get started with us as an engineer. In a collegial environment with experienced employees, you can make full use of your strengths and grow with new challenges. Your ideas are in demand here, with which you can initiate new developments and actively shape our processes. You will mainly be responsible for • Modeling and simulation of cold rolling applications and development of control strategies and applications for rolling mills. • Design of digital twins, including detailed simulation and validation in a simulation environment as well as optimization and testing of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) applications. • Prototyping in the Control Builder (ABB 800xA Engineering Tool) through to commissioning of the developed functions on the plant (complete development cycle). • Trustful cooperation with sales and engineering, including expert troubleshooting, identification of the source of the error and fault rectification. You will be part of a talented and creative team where you will have the opportunity to realize your own potential.

Qualifications for the role
- You have in-depth knowledge of MATLAB / Simulink, IEC 61131 and C programming as well as drive technology and mechatronic systems.
- You can demonstrate relevant professional experience in the field of drive technology and mechatronic systems.
- You have knowledge of control engineering, modeling and simulation.
- You are enthusiastic and innovative in the application of software development methodology.
- You have a successfully completed degree (Master study) in mechatronics, electrical engineering, drive technology or a similar field.
- You are open to occasional international business trips.
