Your role and responsibilities

Understanding customer needs - being responsible for the electrical design of big scale projects. That's the kind of task and challenges you like to have? We are looking for talented early-career engineers, as well as experienced ones, with interest in field of drives (LV/MV). Do what you enjoy and do it well! In this role you will be in close cooperation to the Center of Excellence for MAC projects (Mining, Aluminum, Cement. GMD) in Switzerland. We are filling this position for the ABB Operations Center in Ostrava, part of ABB's Process Automa-tion division, which performs engineering for units throughout Europe and employs more than 500 people. A supply chain management center is also included. Job description: • Perform electrical commissioning of drives and related equipment (LV/MV) • Installation and connection checks. • Performing cold and hot testing. • Communication with customer. • Working as part of whole project team. • Service and maintenance of Drives, including small adjustments in parametrization, up-grades etc.) • Visiting suppliers and attending FATs

Qualifications for the role

• We are looking for:
• Education in Electrical Engineering (e.g. Power electronics, Drives, System Engineering)
• Certification according dec. 50/1978 (min. §5) or 194/2022 Sb. (min. §6)
• Ability to maintain milestones
• Result orientation and reliability
• Team oriented and supportive approach
• Good language skills in English (B2) - will improve quickly during Onsite training
• Committed to travel worldwide (up to 30%)
• Advantage:
• University degree in Electrical engineering
• Previous experience in PLC programming or in drives application
• German Language
• Basic experience in the use of electrical design tools (for example E3/E-plan) is an ad-vantage
