Reservoir Engineer
Reservoir Engineer
Location: Pau
Contract: 12-Month Renewable

Project Overview:

The Reservoir Engineer will be focused on enhancing Multiphysics modelling for CO2 injection into saline aquifers and depleted reservoirs. This project integrates flow and geomechanical simulations to optimize CO₂ storage processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop reservoir models for CO2 storage sites, incorporating fluid flow simulations for saline aquifers and depleted reservoirs.
  • Assess and evaluate next-generation reservoir simulation tools for CO2 storage.
  • Analyse static and dynamic models of CO2 injection, addressing uncertainties in input parameters and their impact on plume propagation.
  • Calibrate 4D seismic data to align CO2 plume predictions with observed data, ensuring geological consistency.
  • Estimate long-term plume behavior and assess the impact of storage mechanisms on stability.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in flow simulation tools for porous media, with a focus on multiphase reservoir simulation (experience with Intersect preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills in field development (hydrocarbon or CO2 storage) with an emphasis on uncertainty analysis and experimental design.
  • In-depth knowledge of reservoir simulations related to geological CO2 storage.
  • Proficient in French or English for daily communication; reports must be in English.
  • Familiarity with geomodelling and reservoir simulation tools (SISMAGE-CIG) or similar platforms like Petrel.
