Your Role:

As a Gas and Heating Breakdown Technician at Paradigm, you'll be part of our dedicated Direct Labour Operation (DLO). We provide everything you need in your role, from a fully equipped hybrid van and fuel card to a mobile phone, tablet, and the necessary work clothing and PPE. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality gas services, including breakdown diagnostics, repairs, and servicing, to our customers across our extensive property portfolio.

You will be the face of Paradigm in the community, ensuring our customers receive prompt, courteous, and professional service. We aim for a first-time fix wherever possible, and your expertise will be critical in maintaining the safety and comfort of our customers' homes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gas Servicing and Repairs: Carry out gas servicing and breakdown repairs to a high standard, adhering to all relevant regulations and codes of practice. Ensure all work is completed within target timescales and to Paradigm's exacting standards.
  • Documentation: Complete all necessary documentation, including certificates and reports, accurately and promptly, in line with company procedures.
  • Customer Interaction: Engage with customers professionally and courteously, ensuring that their experience reflects Paradigm's commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety procedures, conducting task-specific risk assessments, and reporting any unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Efficient Resource Use: Manage materials and equipment effectively, minimising waste and maintaining adequate van stock levels to ensure job completion.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, reporting to the Gas Supervisor and liaising with the Customer Services and Compliance Scheduling Team to ensure seamless service delivery.

What We're Looking For:
  • Experience: Significant experience in gas and heating breakdowns across a range of domestic appliances.
  • Qualifications: ACS Gas Qualifications - CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, CPA1 are essential.
  • Technical Skills: Competence in electrical work related to heating systems and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant legislation, building regulations, and health and safety standards.
  • Communication: Clear and effective communication skills, with a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Driving Licence: A full, valid driving licence is essential.
