Position Status: Full Time
Work Schedule:
Regular hours are Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Employees may need to adjust work hours during surge situations.
Brief Job Description:
The primary objective of the contract is to operate, enhance, and sustain the Army's centralized MDMS in order to accomplish the mission.
The Senior Energy Engineer is responsible for technical oversight of all areas of the contract that deal with the energy calculations, standards, policies, or criteria.
• Delivers dependable meter data.
• Use industry standards to normalize data and establish facility energy consumption related to other facilities.
• Provides tools to enable facility and energy program managers to identify opportunities for energy reduction.
• Supports continual advancement and optimization capabilities and technologies.
• Continually use system engineering techniques to reduce system sustainment cost, scalability and complexity.
• Collects, assimilates, and interprets meter data to provide to facility and energy program managers.
• Provides inputs to planning, cost and execution strategy to implement COTS software solutions.
• Keeps the system in accordance with applicable laws, policies, regulations, etc.
• Performs other tasks as needed.
Requirements:
• Must have at least fifteen (15) years of experience in Energy Engineering (energy systems design, facility energy modeling, auditing, energy studies, commissioning, and validating & executing energy projects).
• Must have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Must have at least three (3) years of experience in facility energy modeling and have a strong background in mathematical modeling.
• Must have experience working with DoD, Army, and Federal Energy & Sustainability laws, policies, executive orders, regulations, instructions, and guidance.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification is desired. A PE license will be given more weight than a CEM certification.
• Experience with DoD or DoA is desired.
• Must be capable of passing a drug screen and background check
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must have strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to prioritize work
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Must have attention to detail and critical thinking skills
• Must demonstrate positive, polite, and professional behavior at all times when dealing with co-workers, customers, and all levels of management
• Must have the ability to communicate using clear, concise, and accurate English; both verbal and written are Required
• Must have reliable transportation to/from work location
Physical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Work will require the regular utilization of hand and finger dexterity, as well as close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to walking, standing, climbing, bending, reaching, turning, kneeling, crouching, or crawling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that, due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds, occasionally up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment:
Work is generally conducted in an inside environment, but may also involve some outside work, depending on the task. The inside environment may be in an office or cubicle with close quarters, with low to moderate noise, and bright or dim lighting. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot and cold climates. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
