Our team is equipped with the tools to help create a cleaner and electrified future.
Are you ready to join our mission to enable widespread electrification of off-highway equipment and vehicles?
What you will do:
You will work together with the Modelling & Control team, which include other control, battery, and thermal engineers on identifying, designing and optimizing thermal systems within our battery pack. You will be involved during the design process to consult on thermal topics so that our battery packs can perform to their best.
The thermal team on one hand works on provide input on the design choices that are made by the mechanical and electrical team so that all thermal requirements are met. On the other hand you work with the control and software engineers to implement the right control strategies so that the pack keeps the right temperature during operation.
The upcoming period we are finalizing our new product series on which we need to perform many verification test so that we can qualify the product. Together with our other thermal engineers you will help perform those tests and check the thermal performance. After the qualification our product will be shipped to customers, also there is interaction with the thermal team since you will be working with the sales engineer team to make sure that the product will be properly used and implemented by our customers from thermal perspective.
Your key responsibilities:
Support the design, analysis, and optimization of thermal management systems for industrial battery packs used in excavators and other heavy-duty equipment.
Conduct thermal simulations using tools such as ANSYS, MATLAB, or OpenModellica to predict and evaluate heat dissipation, temperature distribution, and thermal efficiency in battery modules.
Assist in developing cooling strategies (e.g., liquid cooling, air cooling) to ensure battery performance under extreme operational conditions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and materials scientists, to integrate thermal solutions with overall battery pack designs.
Participate in thermal testing and validation of battery packs to ensure they meet safety, performance, and longevity standards.
Contribute to troubleshooting and failure analysis related to thermal issues in prototypes and field-tested battery systems.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in thermal management for energy storage systems.
