The Power Conversion Technology Laboratory is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning, and plays an important role in the Huawei Digital Power business in the design and development of power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage Field, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle, and Embedded Power Supply.

Faulty Analysis Engineer- Energy Storage (m/f/d)

Location: Nuremberg, Germany

Your mission
  • Be responsible for the daily operation of the energy system failure analysis lab and support the market failure analysis of energy storage products in Europe, including electrical failure analysis, cell failure analysis, and other common failure analysis.
  • Be able to summarize and analyze the failure analysis results on a monthly or annual basis, propose innovative product design improvement solutions, and improve the product design quality together with energy storage experts.
  • Proactively develop and specify the capabilities of the failure analysis center lab and gradually improve the scope of the lab according to given and changing requirements.
  • Lead the lab planning phase according to German standards and requirements of the local authorities
  • Lead the frequent communication and information exchange with local authorities

Your areas of expertise
  • Bachelor's degree or above (Major in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, etc.)
  • Experienced in operating a battery lab and working experience in battery testing and corresponding scientific analyses
  • Familiar with battery cell and system technology, familiar with failure mode and related analysis technology of lithium-ion batteries.
  • Understand the common failure modes and corresponding mechanisms of lithium-ion batteries, and the failure analysis process.
  • Data-sensitive, good at extracting and integrating complex information.
  • High level of self-reliance and an autonomous target-oriented work style, "can do" attitude, eager to learn new things, and ready to think outside the box.
  • Occasional travel related to ongoing projects.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English (working language) and able to communicate with local authorities in German
