About the Job:

The Mine Engineering Intern with will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the development of cutting-edge mining projects. You will be exposed to various aspects of mining operations, including planning, design, safety, and environmental compliance. This internship will provide you with a well-rounded understanding of the mining sector and the opportunity to work on real projects that make a difference.

Responsibilities:

• Mine Planning: Assist in mine planning activities, including short-term and long-term mine design, optimization, and scheduling.
• Data Analysis: Analyze geological and geotechnical data to support mining operations, ensuring safe and efficient extraction of mineral resources.
• Safety: Participate in safety programs and initiatives, promoting a culture of safety within the workplace.
• Equipment and Technology: Gain exposure to the operation and maintenance of mining equipment and cutting-edge technology used in the industry.
• Reporting: Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation related to mining projects, providing insights and recommendations to the engineering team.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including geologists, geotechnical engineers, and environmental specialists, to achieve project goals.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or master's degree in mining engineering or a related field.
• Follow all procedures and safety measures to assure safe production.
• Work in all conditions and environments, varying amount of time on the job is outdoors.
• Able to lift 25 lbs. on an occasional basis.
• Able to walk up and down slopes and uneven ground daily.
• Strong academic performance in relevant coursework.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and software tools commonly used in mine engineering (e.g., AutoCAD, Deswik, and Vulcan).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
