About the Job
Key responsibilities include:
Ownership of Technology Roadmap and support to Strategic Roadmap in Ethylene:
- Provide thought leadership on strategic approach for technological development
- Work with the BL leader reviewing macro trends and competitors actions, especially on their technological development.
- Continuously challenge and improve technology.
- Develop technology roadmap as a subset of the technology strategy roadmap in alignment with business line and corporate strategy.
- Responsible for implementation of ethylene technology strategy and roadmap via shaping, forming, and overseeing the execution of technology programs and supporting of business activities where required.
Ownership of ethylene technology:
- Be the leader of Ethylene technology globally
- Foster cooperation between relevant centers that work with ethylene technology and between the technology community and the business counterparts.
- Key arbitrator in conflict resolution concerning technological issues.
- Coordination between the subject matter experts and centers of expertise
- Key counterpart and decision maker for IP topics, including patents and trademarks.
- Support creation and validation of NDAs.
- Work closely with VP Early Engagement to position for future projects.
R&D programs in the field of Ethylene:
- Accountable for R&D and Technology Scoping program execution lifecycle
- Accountable for management of R&D program via R&D program/project managers in OCs.
- Responsible for setting up and execution of regular program review, gate review within T&I and outside T&I.
- Mentor and coach R&D program managers and technical talent in relevant technical areas.
- Align for and adhere to R&D program management guidelines within T&I SFCC team.
Contribution to cooperations, competitive intelligence and marketing:
- Provide input into marketing material and support conferences.
- Responsible for the Ethylene Technology Forum
- Maintain market intelligence and competitive intelligence in relevant areas.
- Approve technical content for press releases and other publications.
- Recommend technology cooperations, M&A, etc. based on strategic technology roadmap.
- Steer selected technology related cooperations in ethylene.
- Provide input on business cooperation decisions such as JDA, JLA, LA, MoUs, etc.

About You

Desired Skills and Experiences:
- A minimum of 15+ years of experience in relevant industry.
- Good understanding of Chemical technologies in the context of net-zero ambitions.
- Strong business acumen with previous experience in technology development
- Curious about new technologies and keen to open innovation.
- Understanding of quantitative/qualitative R&D portfolio management methodologies
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills including working with cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed global organization.
- A Masters degree or higher in engineering or science is desired
- Strong presentation and communication skills. Ability to work in a multi-culture environment.
