Successful candidates would be offered a fixed term of employment.

About The Job
  • He/She reports directly to the Piping Stress Lead (on Projects he is assigned to) for all stress activities on a project for all tasks pertaining to adequacy of pipe stress and flexibility analysis, and related piping design activities, and administration matters.
  • His/Her responsibilities shall include the following but not limited to:
  1. Prepare the Job Specification for Stress Analysis.
  2. Ensure that all work produced are adequately reviewed and checked as per International Codes &
  3. Standards (referred by the Project), Technips HSEs & QAs requirements, Clients Specifications and the Projects Requirement.
  4. Prepare list of critical lines.
  5. Prepare Stress Calculation Notes.
  6. Liaise with Piping Designer on matters of pipe routing to achieve the requirements of a satisfactory pipe stress analysis. This may include recommendation on position and selection of various support types (anchors, guides, springs, sliding plates, etc.) for acceptable stress levels and satisfactory support loads.
  7. Ensure that all piping systems are adequately supported and where necessary, specify spring, sliding plates and other special pipe supports.
  8. Advise his Lead should there be a need of expansion joints, bellows and other similar special units.
  9. Liaise with Mechanical Engineers for all matters concerning nozzle loads on equipment.
  10. Prepare specification, data sheets, MRs TBTs for the supply of Vendor-supplied special support items like spring supports, rigid struts, sliding plates, etc. and other special units like bellows an expansion joints.
  11. Assist in the man-hour estimates for the project and advises the lead Stress Engineer of the need to amend the project manning requirements, when required.
  12. Maintain up-to-date on relevant developments in the field of pipe stress analysis and flexibility analysis.
  13. Prepare updates or improved Stress Section Sections standards, procedures or guidelines, if requested by Stress Section Head.
  14. Review the support types and location indicated on the IFC isometric in accordance with approved Stress isometrics.

Main Accountabilities
  • He/She reports directly to the Piping Stress Lead (on Projects he is assigned to) for all stress activities on a project for all tasks pertaining to adequacy of pipe stress and flexibility analysis, and related piping design activities, and administration matters.
  • Conversant with relevant International Codes & Standards.
  • Piping analysis for Code compliance (ASME B31.3, ASME B31.8, ASME B31.4).
  • Rotating equipment (compressor, turbine, pumps) nozzle load evaluation due to connected piping.
  • Pressure vessels and storage tanks nozzle load evaluation due to connected piping.
  • Flange joint leakage/stress evaluation.
  • Spring supports/struts/snubbers (when necessary) selection/specification, and trunnion calculations.
  • Able to perform stress analysis for air-coolers, PSV piping, steam/high temperature piping, LNG/cryogenic piping and underground piping.
  • Wellhead piping analysis considering wellhead growth(s).
  • Bridge piping analysis considering relative bridge/platform displacements.
  • Familiar with Hogging/Sagging determination and incorporation on analysis of FPSO and other floaters piping.
  • Conversant in piping Fatigue calculations.
  • Has the ability to serve both as a Lead Piping Stress and a Senior Piping Stress Engineer for assigned projects.

Main Accountabilities
  • Prepare the Job Specification for Stress Analysis.
  • Able to prepare, Review and/or check list of critical lines.
  • Prepare and check Stress Calculation Notes.
  • Perform selection of pipe support types.
  • Ensure that all piping systems are adequately supported and where necessary, specify spring sliding plates and other special pipe supports.
  • Liaise with and/or advise the Piping Designer of the pipe routing to achieve the requirements of a satisfactory pipe stress analysis.
  • Coordinate and/or prepare pipe support loading sheets for Civil/Structural design.
  • Coordinate with Process and Mechanical disciplines to determine Process data and any special Process requirements or equipment operation modes.
  • Able to manage and/or prepare specifications, data sheets, material requisitions, technical bid
  • evaluations/tabulations.
  • Liaise with Mechanical Engineers for all matters concerning nozzle loads on equipment.
  • Supervise pool of stress engineers and do piping stress checks.
  • Able to prepare and manage a schedule for piping stress analysis engineering activities and deliverables.

About You
  • Recognized Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 10 years of working experience in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical field (especially EPC projects and FPSO jobs) in an engineering company as piping stress analysis and support engineer.
  • Experience in piping stress analysis using CAESAR II.
  • Experience in manual calculation methods, and the use of nomographs and tables for assessing adequate piping flexibility.
  • Experience in piping engineering including pipe wall thickness calculations, branch connection reinforcement check, pipe supports check/selection and equipment nozzle load calculations/evaluation.
  • Able to assess pipe routings with regards to stress and supports.
  • Knowledgeable in Industry Piping Codes and Standards, and familiar with Industry Equipment codes.
  • Conversant with PI&D and its requirements.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to Work under Minimum Supervision.
  • Organized, methodical and detail-oriented
  • A good team-worker, with a strong work ethics.
  • Pro-active and willing to take initiative.
  • Strong multi-tasking, problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Nice to have
  • Technically sound in Piping Engineering and Piping Design requirements.
  • Experience in working with model review tools (Navisworks, Smart Plant and etc.)
  • Working experience in brownfield projects.
  • Able to read and understand the P&ID requirement.
  • Experience with FEA tools such as Nozzle Pro, FE Pipe or others is preferred.
  • Good in Excel Macros and VBA is preferred.
