Job Overview

The Workshop Technician III for Intervention Services & Drilling Tools is responsible for providing hands-on technical support in the maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of field tools and equipment. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that tools are ready for field deployment. Working primarily in a workshop environment, the technician will follow detailed procedures and protocols to ensure operational efficiency and minimal downtime for field operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Follow all safety rules, company policies, and quality standards.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on intervention services and drilling tools.
  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble equipment following technical manuals and protocols.
  • Diagnose tool and equipment issues, ensuring accurate and timely repairs.
  • Perform troubleshooting, refurbishing, and mandatory modifications to maintain equipment functionality.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities.
  • Prioritize workloads to ensure all tools are ready for field use as per the maintenance schedule.
  • Maintain communication with supervisors and managers regarding any technical issues or improvements.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors and provide technical guidance when needed.
  • Operate forklifts, cranes, and other lifting equipment safely (certification required).
  • Follow risk assessments and safety measures during all tasks.
  • Ensure workshop cleanliness and safety at all times.


Skills:
  • Expertise in mechanical and technical repairs of intervention services and drilling tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and technical documents.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting equipment.
  • Proficient in using a variety of tools and equipment, including precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
  • Forklift and crane operation certification (or willingness to obtain certification).


Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-6 years of experience in equipment repair and maintenance, specifically in the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing drilling tools and intervention services equipment.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance protocols, safety standards, and operational procedures.
