About The Job
- Assist the Lead /Senior Instrument Engineer in ensuring good quality design outputs, as per the relevant procedures.
- Produce the agreed deliverables as per the project requirement and schedules in cost effective manner.
- Perform thorough study and information gathering for all the relevant systems defined in the design and ensure adequate information are being incorporated in the design deliverables.
- Monitor and ensure that any drawings designed by designer and generated by the drafters is properly established to reflect all required design details and to good engineering practices.
- Retain all records of design deliverables sketches, drafts, reviews, revisions for audit and traceability purpose.
- Perform required in-house Instrument sizing and selection as well as manage studies performed by 3rd party subcontractor/vendor
- Perform assistance to site and involve in site works to Construction Team and manage System Vendor/Integrator and field instrument vendors work execution during EPC project.
Main Accountabilities
- Prepares, updates and checks specifications and calculations for detailed engineering.
- Ensures contractual technical specifications are met by the Vendors
- Adheres to the committed man/hours and budget.
- Ensures timely internal and external reporting on engineering activities and progress to the Lead.
- Meets quality objectives of the project.
- Remain accountable and assume responsibility to all works and activities done
- Continuously develop and grow technical knowhow as well as familiarize with Design Codes and Standards
- Carry out onshore and offshore site visits as required
- Prepare site survey check lists and reports and other reports as required
- Interfaces with other disciplines and project support functions such as procurement and planning.
About You
- Possess Bachelors Degree in Instrumentation/Electronic Engineering accredited by Board of Engineer Malaysia or approved equivalent.
- Registered with Board of Engineers (BEM) or equivalent
- Possess at least minimum 5 years working experience of Instrumentation and Control engineering design experiences of which 2 years in Oil and Gas industry
- Knowledge in offshore platform and onshore Instrumentation and Control system
- Good interpersonal skills, good team player and willing to learn and grow with the organization
- Good communication skills both oral and written
- Possess analytical skills, problem solving skills and initiative.
- Able to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.
Nice to have
- Preferably registered Professional Engineer (PE) with local board or approved equivalent.
- Experience in tender bid documents preparation, clarifications and tender bid evaluation report preparation
- 2 year or more working experience with OEM/System Vendors/Field Instrument vendors
- Good awareness on HSE and HFE
