Job Overview:

ARB Underground is seeking a Field Engineer for its Fairfield, CA location. This position will support Project Managers, review project bid documents, permits, and proposals prior to the start of construction activities.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
  • Field Engineer to support Project Manager.
  • Review Project Bid Documents, Permits, and Proposals prior to the start of construction activities.
  • Participate in management meetings.
  • Provide feedback to managers and project team.
  • Office and Field support is required. If the assigned project site is shut down. The expectation is to work from office.
  • Mark and Call-in USA and Keep an electronic record on Shared/drive.
  • On-site data collection using Locus/View GPS Systema and Software prior to backfill operation.
  • Track and Submit Weekly Quantity Trackers.
  • Coordinate and attend GSR Review and Field Meeting with PG&E to review proposed Gas Services. This may require Behind the Meter Plumbing and Permitting, and coordination with ARB Plumbers.
  • Coordinate with Foremen and Project Manager, to provide schedule updates.
  • Create RFI/change order estimates with input from Superintendent.
  • Help Identify Out-of-scope work or Change in Conditions that will require an RFI.
  • Coordinate Notifications to property owners.
  • Track and Monitor Project as-builts and Final GSR Submittals.
  • Work with Project Manager and Scheduler to update project schedule.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Focus on Safety.
  • 3-5 years of college working toward a Construction or Project Management Degree.
  • Strong Construction background or desire to learn the industry.
  • Ability to work well with Field Crews
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic Understanding of GPS Systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and web-based software applications
  • This position will require 90% Field Time ability to work remotely.
  • Variable working hours from 40 to 60 hours a week based on the project schedule. More than 40 hours not guaranteed.

Compensation: $70,000k- $90,000k / year (pay is decided based on experience)
