Your role and responsibilities
ABB is a technology leader in electrification and automation, enabling a more sustainable and resource-efficient future. The company's solutions connect engineering know-how and software to optimize how things are manufactured, moved, powered and operated. To strengthen our team, we are looking for Simulation Mechanical Engineer - Intern, well organized skills, engineering intuition, solving nontrivial puzzles and with at least intermediate level of English (B2) with willingness to develop in new areas and self-learning. Here are more details on what you can expect: • CAD design and simplifications of 3D models (SolidWorks, SpaceClaim) • Numerical simulations in Abaqus ( structural analyses: static, dynamic, modal) or MscOne/Adams (multibody) or Autodesk Moldflow (plastic processing) • Laboratory measurements • Verification of the results based on analytical methods • Preparation of the documentation/reports of performed analyses (MS Office)

Qualifications for the role
- Student of 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of mechanical engineering or related subject
- General knowledge of mechanics, theory of mechanisms and machine design
- Ability to create 3D models (solid, surface modelling) confirmed by own projects
- Ability to analyze data in MS Excel
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation (English)
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Nice to have basic knowledge of programming Fortran, Python, C++
- Nice to have basic knowledge of one of the CAE software (preferred Abaqus)
- Ability to use standards e.g. EUROCODE would be a plus
