Job Description Summary

Activities contributing to the design, development and certification of GE9X engine program, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Responsible for execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
This job position will provide a wide range of engineering creativity not only for Design, but also as Processes that would yield into Intellectual Property Disclosures, Lean Tools and wide range of techniques applied to engineering, manufacturing and field support of the GE9X engine.
The candidate will lead design changes which require close coordination with multiple teams such as Analysis, Product Definition, Manufacturing Programs. Also, strong communication skills are required to be able to successfully present design reviews at different forums such as Design Board, Tech Review, Program Control Board, Certification Control Board, etc. Strong technical writing skills is also required for CIDs and other types of required documentation.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to make decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.
  • Provide coaching/mentoring to junior colleagues on engineering process.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Design Field, above +6yrs Engineering Experience on Design, Analysis (FEA), testing, validation and Risk Assessment (FMEA) as well as certification of Aircraft Propulsion
  • Basic Knowledge of CFR33 Certification, experience in CFR25 is highly considered as well
  • Proven Experience with GD&T process
  • Demonstrated track record of Project Management for Global Enterprise, multi projects, multi priorities
  • Proven experience on Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Simulations
  • Solid track record of mentoring junior colleagues
  • Capable to communicate in English Language with peers worldwide, stakeholders and Revenue Share Partners
  • Familiar with multiple manufacturing & Industrial process for Stainless Steel, Composite Materials, such as fabrication, industrialization and capable to define technical requirements to suppliers
  • Capable to influence others to drive project execution on time, demonstrated schedule attainment in several projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Customer technical/program requirements translated to engineering products or solutions
  • Ability to handle suppliers and revenue share partners to convey on project execution to customer


Desired Characteristics
  • Certification in GD&T, or PMP
  • Basic Knowledge on Low and High Cycle fatigue failure modes
  • Experience with Externals Configurations hardware design, and Certification process per CFR 33 Regulation


Additional Job D escription

This position will interact with development engines program (Peebles, Ohio, US) and might require travel to support testing operations.

This position will interact with Customer (Boeing 777 program), thus influencing/communication skills is highly appreciated
