Our client is a global energy storage business that originates from Switzerland and the United States, with a presence now in Australia, that is growing rapidly. They aim to revolutionise energy storage solutions with an innovative approach to developing and deploying utility-scale energy storage solutions, which in turn, is designed to transform the world’s approach to sustainability.

Job Description:

Our client is currently seeking a Principal Project Engineer for the office in Melbourne to manage, optimise design and lead the execution of BESS projects. Whilst in this position, you will be liaising with internal and external stakeholders such as Project Managers, Construction Managers, AHJs, and consultants. As the business is rapidly growing and delivering on more APAC contracts, the position will assist in the building of scalable processes, technology and products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as responsibility for project execution, which will require a detailed understanding of scope, schedule and keeping all parties in sync
  • Plan and lead BESS project commissioning
  • Review and provide feedback on design documents such as single line drawings, communication diagrams and more
  • Apply engineering principals and consult SMEs to identify problems & and lead solutions on projects
  • Provide detailed constructive feedback to aid the improvement of internal processes and product.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering – Electrical or Power Systems Engineering
  • 8 years of leading project design, preferably in the building process of large power stations or PV or further utility-scale power projects
  • 3 years of BESS or PV project experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, 20-30%.
