As a Ground Segment Systems Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a critical role on a cross-disciplinary team that specializes in the design, development, and deployment of novel, state-of-the-art optical and science systems for military, government, and commercial space applications, including Earth observation, atmospheric monitoring, space situational awareness, maritime traffic monitoring, and optical communications. You will be integral in creating system solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, design architectures, link budgets and ensure the successful implementation, testing and delivery of projects. Your technical skills will be crucial in driving the development of reliable and high-performance solutions for space applications. Your expertise in ground systems design, integration, testing, and technical leadership skills will be instrumental in shaping the success of our space missions.

Key Responsibilities
• Participate in the engineering processes for managing requirements through the lifecycle of control and operations ground segments, using formal methods and tools for maintenance, verification and validation of operational requirements.
• Lead and coordinate ground, control and operations segments (satellite operations center, mission operations center)
• Review, manage, ground system operations plans, validation plans and procedures, and ground segment security (network connectivity service and segment reliability)
• Develop, train and follow operations procedures

- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support on development programs as part of a highly engaged and integrated engineering team.
• Participate in the engineering processes for managing requirements through the lifecycle of control and operations ground segments, using formal methods and tools for maintenance, verification and validation of operational requirements.
• Lead and coordinate ground, control and operations segments (satellite operations center, mission operations center)
• Review, manage, ground system operations plans, validation plans and procedures, and ground segment security (network connectivity service and segment reliability)
• Develop, train and follow operations procedures
You Must Have
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Optical, Mechanical, Electrical or Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Ground Systems Operations and related activities for at least one earth observation or satellite communications mission.
- Experience with Satellite Mission Control systems for earth observation or satellite communications missions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to effectively communicate technical information across different levels of the organization and externally.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work with little supervision, consistently taking the initiative to get things done.
