Position Summary
The Reservoir Engineer will be an integral part of the New Ventures Team. This role will prepare technical evaluations and presentations for Senior Management and must clearly articulate downside risks and upside opportunities. This role requires technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and will work closely with our commercial planning and geology teams to ensure success in our new ventures' endeavors. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in reservoir engineering and economic analysis, be able to support the assessment of new business initiative, be self-motivated, be creative in problem solving, be organized and foster strong working relationships across other key business functions. This position is located in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions
  • Support technical and economic assessment of new business efforts by conducting technical evaluations, due diligence, and economic assessments
  • Work collaboratively alongside multidisciplinary team to high-grade identified opportunities across new ventures projects
  • Prepare detailed presentations, technical reports and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders
  • Utilize data analytics and machine learning to support the team in making quicker and more accurate decisions on evaluations
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in reservoir engineering
  • Additional duties as needed by management and Company operations

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 3 years of reservoir or drilling and completions engineering
  • Strong team building skills and ability to communicate effectively across all functions in the organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
  • Experience in working on multi-discipline projects, especially in exploration and development planning
  • Strong background in economics and forecasting
  • Ability to think strategically with excellent quantitative skills
  • Strong initiative and proven project management skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess the ability to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, copier, files, telephone, and fax; maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering
  • 5 years reservoir engineering experience
