You will use firsthand shop floor activity, data analysis, engineering trials/studies, and cross-functional collaboration to evaluate product and process performance while leading technical problem-solving activities to drive improvements.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Direct shop floor support for operational product and process concern in a high technology manufacturing environment
- Monitor daily product performance - including overall quality/yield/cost results, real-time shop floor reviews, and urgent response to issues.
- Develop strong product and process quality acceptance criteria and customer requirements by engaging with customers and stakeholders and utilizing practical performance data.
- Perform analysis of scrap & rework data to establish prioritized problem solving and clearly defined strategies for improving results to achieve business targets.
- Lead engineering studies and projects to enhance understanding & optimization of quality/cost drivers for your responsible products/processes.
- Work closely with process engineers to improve process design, setup, and controls to ensure that product performance is stable and optimized.
- Support shop floor production team by listening to and acting upon feedback related to process improvement opportunities.
- Clearly communicate with business leadership at Senior and Executive levels for improvement project status updates, operational planning, and strategic decision making

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering/Technology (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of engineering, military, or other appropriate technical experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Desired Characteristics:
- Expertise in using statistical tools/concepts to analyze data (e.g., Minitab, Cpk, VBA, ANOVA, Excel) to lead data-driven problem solving and true root cause identification
- Experience independently planning, executing, and analyzing engineering design of experiments
- Experience leading small teams (peers or direct reports) and influencing cross-functional stakeholder teams to achieve consensus on direction.
- Experience working in aerospace industry, specifically in ceramics and/or turbine airfoils commodity
- Experience with NX/SolidWorks for modeling and GOM/PolyWorks for product characteristic evaluation
- Self-motivated with ability to identify problems/opportunities and work independently and within the team to drive solutions.
